The Ferrari automobile designer, Leonardo Fioravanti, was born January 31, 1938 in Milan, Italy. Fioravanti studied mechanical engineering at the Milan Polytechnic University, where he specialized in aerodynamics and automobile frame design.
He is the founder, and current CEO of Fioravanti Srl., an Italian automotive design studio in Turin, Italy. His company began in 1987 in Japan, but they were not focused on automobiles, rather they where focused on architectural projects. Until 1991, were he decided to change the company’s focus to to automotive design merely.
Leonardo Fioravanti, at the age of 26, before becoming the CEO of Fioravanti Srl, worked as a car stylist for twenty-four years for Pininfarina, an Italian car design firm. In Pininfarina, Fioravanti worked on renowned vehicles from Ferrari, such as Ferrari Dino, Ferrari 512 Berlinetta Boxer, Ferrari 288 GTO, Ferrari Daytona and Ferrari 308 GTB. Eventually, with time Fioravanti became the Director, and General Manager of Pininfarina. Twenty-four years after leaving Pininfarina, he worked for Ferrari as the General Manager, and for Alfa Romeo as the Director.
On January 16, 2009, Leonardo Fioravanti was nominated as the chairman of ANFIA, a car coach builder group, were he served for 3 years, from 2009 to 2011. However, his company Fioravanti Srl. is still operating, making automobile prototypes, and providing consultations in design cases for different well-known automakers such as Fiat and Ferrari.
